Autonomous business models vs. current cash generators
In recent years there has been much consternation about the role major auto shows play in debuting new products. The number of truly new vehicle introductions at events like Detroit's North American International Auto Show has been on the decline, causing some to blame the influence of the International CES - formerly known as the Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas.
The reality, however, is this: Auto shows would probably be struggling even if CES didn't exist. The difference between the two early January 2018 events is more evidence of this.
