Lighting Company Retrofits Headquarters With Edge-Lit Light Guide Technology

Global Lighting Technologies, a manufacturer of LEDbased, edge-lit light guide solutions for general illumination applications, has retrofitted its North American sales & engineering headquarters with LED ceiling lights. In a classic example of practicing what it preaches, GLT has replaced the facility’s existing fluorescent lights with its UL-certified LED-based 2' × 2' and 1' × 4' ceiling lights throughout the building. The new lights utilize GLT’s edge-lit light guide technology, where the LEDs are strategically spaced along one or two edges of the light guide to achieve high levels of efficiency using the fewest LEDs, with the highest possible uniformity. Each of the ceiling lights utilizes 100 LEDs, with 50 LEDs spaced along each of two edges of the 2' × 2' downlights, and 100 LEDs spaced along one edge of the 1' × 4' ceiling lights.
