When design teams mesh with manufacturing, the result is better aircraft.

Use of composite materials in the aerospace industry continues to expand, resulting in tighter links between design engineers and manufacturing teams.

As more assemblies shift from aluminum and other metals, design teams often have to learn to work with entirely new materials that have a broad range of material characteristics with far more degrees of freedom, but potentially much more complexity.
