- This SAE Recommended Practice provides for standardized steel disc wheel radial runout low point marking. This marking is used for match-mounting tires on wheels to minimize assembly radial force variation. It applies to tubeless 15 degree drop center disc wheels for use on class 5, 6, 7, and 8 commercial vehicles.

- The current SAE Recommended Practice includes both steel and aluminum wheel profiles. None of the major US wheel manufacturers low point any aluminum wheels for use on class 5, 6, 7 and 8 vehicles.The proposed revision is to add the word “steel” in the scope and to remove the aluminum wheel profiles from the document to align with industry practice.
