- Features
- Issuing Committee
- Content
- This SAE Standard specifies requirements and design guidelines for electrical wiring systems of less than 50 V and cable diameters from 0.8 to 19 mm2 used on construction, agricultural, and general purpose industrial categories of off-road self-propelled work machines as defined in SAE J1116.
- Content
- Standard J1614 was first issued in March 1998 and is up for review. Input to date shows that no technical content changes are needed. However, review by CTTC - SC2 committee members has highlighted several typographical errors that should be corrected. Below is a list of those issues.

Page 6, Table 3: Change units of Resistance in the second column from micro-ohms (μΩ) to micro-ohms per millimeter (μΩ/mm).

Page 6, Table 4: Table cells that are highlighted are considered marginal. Need to further convey that fact that these table values are marginal. It is preferred that in addition to the high-lighting, the marginal values also have a line (or box) around them.

Page 6, Paragraph 4.2.7.3, at the end of this paragraph add a note in parenthesis as follows: … voltage drop is always recommended. (Note: run length” is ½ of the loop length).
