- Content
- Characteristics of vertical non-rotating balancing machines are described which make such machines suitable for balancing rigid unbladed gas turbine rotors or rotors with fixed, integral blades.
- Content
- Modern jet engines are more frequently employing integrally bladed rotors (IBRs) in the design of their fan and compressor rotor stages. Due to the inherent design nature of an integrally bladed rotor (IBR), which is fabricated from a single work piece with no removable and loosely-attached components, the requirement for a rotating speed capability is rendered unnecessary.
