- Issuing Committee
- Content
- This specification covers three types of deicing/anti-icing material, each in the form of a non-Newtonian fluid.
- Content
- This revision of the document reflects the following changes. Inclusion of Cold Storage Stability test (3.2.2.10) and an alternate procedure for Exposure to Dry Air testing (3.2.2.2.2). Bright yellow was added as the color for SAE Type III fluid (Table 1). Highest Viscosity Dilution (3.2.5.3.1) and Preproduction Tests samples (4.2.3.1 and 4.2.3.2) were clarified with more detail. Annexes A, B, and C were replaced with references to separate pieces of documentation, SAE AS 5901, AS 5900 and AS 5900, respectively. High and Low Water Spray Endurance Time tests (HWSET and LWSET) were removed (formerly 3.2.4.2 and 3.2.4.3). Accelerated Aging Thermal Stability (3.2.2.1), Shear Stability (3.2.2.7.1), and Hydrogen Embrittlement (3.3.2.5) and were changed to be consistent with AMS 1424 test practices.
