This SAE Recommended Practice establishes the test procedure, environment, and instrumentation for determining the maximum sound level potential for motorcycles under wide open throttle acceleration and closed throttle deceleration.
Rationale
This document was last revised in 2005, and is now updated as a result of the regular 5-year revision cycle. Slight changes in format and wording clarifying the document’s intent are introduced.
The Motorcycle Technical Steering Committee develops and maintains SAE Standards, Recommended Practices and Information Reports related to improving and promoting the design, construction, and maintenance of motorcycles and related vehicles. The committee maintains liaison with the International Standards Organization (ISO) and, as necessary, with organizations such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC), SAE-related committees and other organizations. Participants in the SAE Motorcycle Technical Committee include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government and other interested parties.

Wild Cards

Using Quotes
Words in double quotes " " are treated as a phrase. Conducting a search for "heat model" will return all results in which the exact phrase "heat model" is found, while "heat modeling" would NOT be included.
A term combined with a phrase will be joined with an OR operator.
