The company's middle sedan is updated with a 21st century interpretation of traditional standards.
There has never before been a Jaguar like the new XF sedan, publicly revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It incorporates the company's long-established dependence on traditional design and materials, but both are overlaid with progressive and bold 21st century aesthetics and technology. The XF's roofline slopes into an un-Jaguar-like high tail, while its large front grille (with complex mesh pattern) and hood treatment do owe something to tradition.
Even the way the XF moves into action is futuristic. As the car is unlocked and the driver sits behind the multifunctional steering wheel, the engine start button pulses red. Press it and a cast alloy rotary transmission selector rises from the center console, rotating air vents open, turning from their closed, flush position on the dashboard, and the navigation system initializes to its home page. The transmission selector is turned by the driver to the required setting and the car driven away in fully auto or paddle-controlled manual mode.
