Automakers and their suppliers are making greater use of hidden LEDs along with light pipes and micro lenses to alter the look of instrument panels.
Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are moving into a new phase as they transform interior lighting, providing more light while fitting into the trend toward seamless appearance. Powerful LEDs are getting so small that they can be hidden away, adding light and color throughout the instrument panel.
LEDs are conserving energy and space as they give stylists ways to add new lighting effects Cascading light and logos that appear only when turned on are augmenting functions like back-lighting LCDs used in clusters and navigation systems.
