Scope
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) establishes the minimum performance standards for equipment used as secondary alternating current (AC) electrical power sources in aerospace electric power systems.
Rationale
This document was created to fill the need for a frequency converter specification in the aerospace industry. Frequency converter use has become common practice within the industry. Presently there are no known guiding documents addressing these requirements. The document will define the minimum electrical, environmental, and reliability requirements for these devices in aerospace applications.

AE-7B Power Management, Distribution and Storage
The AE-7B Power Management, Distrib ution and Storage Committee is established to provide a forum for gathering and disseminating technical information between suppliers and users of power management equipment, power converters, and their associated control elements. The committee will also develop the guidelines and standards to facilitate the design and use of power management equipment for future applications.

* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
