AADL specifications may be processed manually or by tools for analysis and generation. This section documents additional requirements and permissions for determining compliance. Providers of processing method implementations must document a list of those capabilities they support and those they do not support.

- The language defined in SAE AS5506 has been refined and extended based on industrial experience with version 1.0 over the last 4 years. The improvements focus on better support for architecture templates and modeling of layered and partitioned architectures. SAE AS5506B is a revision of AS5506A that addresses a number of errata that have been reported and agreed upon by the committee.This Architecture Analysis & Design Language (AADL) standard document was prepared by the SAE AS-2C Architecture Description Language Subcommittee, Embedded Computing Systems Committee, Aerospace Avionics Systems Division.
