In this paper, both, experimental and numerical tools are used in order to analyze A/C blower fluid flow behavior and performances. This CFD investigation deals with velocity and pressure field calculations in the blade passage. By that way we intend to evaluate the efficiency of our blower wheel in a standard design, according to the related fluid flow characteristic measurements. From these results, the blade geometry is modified, in order to increase the fluid dynamic performance.
First we describe the selected geometry and the associated boundary conditions. We then comment on results according to the related hypothesis. Later on, we present the new shape geometry and the aeraulic and acoustic performances, measured on a described test bench before and after blade design modification. These measurement data are useful to check CFD calculations for the complete functional range.
