Abstract
The liftgate multiplexed node is an integrated system which combines the liftgate wiper, liftgate lock/unlock actuator, and the liftglass release solenoid in a single multi-function motor employing Geneva mechanisms. Included is a multiplexed electronic module which communicates with a body controller to control the position of the multi-function motor and to actuate the heated backlight, license plate lamps, and the center high mount stop lamp. Advantages include improved reliability, reduced weight, lower system cost and assembly plant labor.
