- Vehicle simulation for performance will help develop an electric vehicle that meets goals before making a decision of the type of propulsion system. In this research, performance simulation program has been developed and applied in developing an prototype electric vehicle, KEV. In order to compare the simulation results with that of on-road tests, the KEV was evaluated on the proving ground in terms of driving range at steady speed and on SAE J227a āDā cycle, accelerability, maximum speed, as well as vehicle road energy consumption. The simulation results are in good agreement with on-road test results except vehicle road energy consumption. The factors affecting the performance of the vehicle significantly has been discussed in this paper.
