Abstract
On-Board avionics maintenance for next generation airplanes is the sum product of experience from previous generations of maintenance concepts. With each evolution of avionics standards, an attempt has been made to bring more interaction between technology and the line mechanic, while at the same time placing less emphasis on the line mechanic as the knowledge base for maintenance information.
