Abstract
An investigation was carried out in order to describe brake judder as well as to provide a qualitative analysis of the design aspects of components that cause or influence brake judder. It was found that the causes for brake judder do not always relate to the brake system but also to other components. Vehicles can be desensitized through suspension design and the development of brake judder can be influenced by the design'and quality of various individual components.
