Abstract
The resin transfer molding (RTM) process provides a closed system for environmental protection. By using a low profile additive, an excellent surface quality part can be molded, but for automation there is a demand for faster molding cycles; and there is always a need for higher mechanical properties. A low profile unsaturated polyester resin system has been developed that meets the requirements of a fast molding cycle while maintaining good mechanical properties and a Class A surface quality.
