Abstract
To improve fuel consumption, safety and comfort, which are very important themes for automobiles, powertrain control technologies can play a very important role. This paper discusses recent developments and future trends of powertrain control technologies especially in the area of automatic transmission, continuously variable transmission and four wheel drive.
