Authors Abstract
Content
The ability to handle large volumes of jet fuel at a modern airport and maintain a high degree of purity requires an integrated Quality Control program. The adverse effects of contaminants on the aircraft systems are described to show the need for planned monitoring of the fuel handling systems.
Methods for detecting the various fuel contaminants are described along with the effects of the contaminants on dispensing equipment and storage facilities. Methods for removing and eliminating contaminants and the equipment needed are described.
The paper shows how only clean, water-free fuel can be delivered to the aircraft.
