Authors Abstract
Content
Hydrogen is identified as a clean alternative fuel for SI engines due to very low emissions level.
The paper presents results of the modeling of the processes inside the SI engine cylinder fueled on hydrogen addition and of the experimental investigations carried out on an experimental single cylinder SI engine.
In order to avoid the abnormal combustion phenomena, authors used fueling equipment that ensures the hydrogen admission inside the engine cylinder after the intake valve closure. The hydrogen fueling equipment allows moment and quantity adjustment of the hydrogen in-cylinder admission.
