Authors Abstract
Content
Due to the increased performance of 3D CAD/CAM/CAE software in recent years, 3D CAD models created by designers can now be utilized as FE models or CAM data. Consequently, large-scale FE analysis using a highly precise FE model is attained in a short time, and a highly precise analysis result is easily obtained by a designer. Furthermore, the error between an actual measurement and an analysis result is reduced due to the increased precision of the trial product manufactured using CAM data. Because of these advantages, it is clear that FE analysis by the designer will be useful for product development.
