Abstract
For a driver, a good perception of the environment in which his vehicle is operating is a determining element for his security and comfort. Although automotive constructors are totally convinced of this, they have equally to consider numerous other constraints, which can be technical, financial or temporal.
In order to allow them to achieve the best compromises, this article proposes a study on different tools and methods which allows objective data related to the visibility to be obtained rapidly. First we will define the visibility and introduce the notion of visibility field. Then we will analyze the perspectives that the photogrammetry offers to us. We intend to show how the photogrammetry and a fish-eye lens allow us to define a measuring mode, a representation of the visibility field, and finally methods to valid a vehicle project.
